With mixed emotions I tell you of my decision to retire from my position at Pax Christi Metro New York. I retired at the end of the 2020 fiscal year, August 31st, 2020.
My time as PCMNY staff was a true vocation, not a job. It was filled with countless blessed experiences and encounters. I spoke at the UN, developed programs, represented PCMNY to numerous peace and faith-based movements, brought Pete Seeger and Martin Sheen to PCMNY, and worked side by side with many of you.
Nevertheless, I believe the time is right for me to step back. I am not leaving Pax Christi completely. As of now, I plan to continue to write and help with some programs and events. Only time will tell how that might change. Retirement after 20 years as Director of PCMNY allows me to do the things I most enjoy and do best for PCMNY, while still having time to do other things as well. Of course, this means a big transition not only for me, but for all of you. I hope you will step in and help keep PCMNY a vibrant voice for peace in our region.
Thank you for all you have been for PCMNY and me all these years. I look forward to our new shared adventure that will sustain and strengthen the Catholic peace movement in metropolitan New York.
In peace with gratitude,
