Photos from PCMNY Hiroshima and Nagasaki event at Battery Park, NYC- 8/7/21

As we reflected at 5 monuments in the park;

Margaret Flanagan, in brimmed sun hat holding the gong, used the gong to commemorate. One gong for each year (76) since the tragedies at Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August, 1945.

We are gathered here, members of Pax Christi Metro NY and others, to remember the 76th anniversary of the Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

We gather in various sites here that memorialize other events of violence and destruction of human life.

We hope to reflect upon these sites from a perspective of peace, nonviolence and healing.

We gather to breathe in the sacred space, to open our selves to the Spirit, to change these site to places of repentance and transformation.
