The 44th Way of the Cross

Several hundred people in one of the largest public Christian peace witnesses in New York City gathered. In this our forty-fourth year, Pax Christi Metro New York will commemorate Good Friday as a modern-day enactment of the Stations of the Cross, praying for peace and justice on the streets of our city. We remember that throughout our life Jesus calls us to active non-violence. This year our theme is “Given these times, what would Jesus do/say?”

We Walked from 8:30 am to 12pm on Good Friday, April 3rd, 2026. We began at Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza (47th St. at First Ave.) and proceed along 42nd Street to between Eighth and Ninth Avenues.
