Join several hundred people in one of the largest public Christian peace witnesses in New York City. In this our forty-first year Pax Christi Metro New York will commemorate Good Friday as a modern-day enactment of the Stations of the Cross, praying for peace and justice on the streets of our city.
We remember that throughout our life Jesus calls us to active non-violence.
The Walk will take place in person, from 8:30 am to 12pm on Good Friday, April 7th.

Fall Assembly Saturday, October 22nd
PCMNY is returning to an in-person Fall Assembly Saturday, October 22nd, at Manhattan College.
The keynote speaker will be renowned Maria Stephan, co-author of Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict (Columbia Studies in Terrorism and Irregular Warfare).

Pictures of Anti-Nuclear Weapons Exhibit in NYC – 5/22/22
A PCMNY member visited this exhibit in Times Square in the later part of May,2022. Everyday, as a part of this art installation, balloons that were intended to mimic a nuclear warhead were handed out at the exhibit site at 4pm daily. This is a project of Pedro Reyes with sponsorship by ICAN and the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
Summer Reflection/Prayer/Action
The Feast of Pentecost has come and gone, marking the birthday of the Church, the end of the Easter season and the return to Ordinary Time. Like any other birthday, this means a new beginning, a celebration of new life, new growth, and new possibilities. And like many birthdays, it is a time of gift-giving.

Conference on Social Justice, April 2
On April 2, 2022 the Church of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Pax Christi Metro New York, along with SOMOS Community Care and Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York, will be hosting a symposium on Catholic Social Teaching – a fundamental value of the Catholic tradition. The symposium, entitled “Good News in Tough Times: Following Jesus in a Wounded Church and Divided Nation,” will be conducted in English and in Spanish. The morning will feature two keynote speakers: John Carr of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and Bishop Octavio Cisneros, emeritus auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn in New York City.

By popular request, a YouTube copy of the March 19 Retreat is posted here. Drawing on the teachings of mystics from Rumi, Dorothee Soelle, Thomas Berry and the Appalachian People’s Pastoral and then the work of artists depicting the Last Supper, the Trinity, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and Kwan Yen, to name a few. Fr. Terry Moran led us in contemplative ideas regarding peace and justice for our times.
