Join several hundred people in one of the largest public Christian peace witnesses in New York City. In this our forty-first year Pax Christi Metro New York will commemorate Good Friday as a modern-day enactment of the Stations of the Cross, praying for peace and justice on the streets of our city.
This year our Annual Good Friday Way of the Cross will be an in person event. As we plan this event we seek to know the needs of those who will walk and pray with us.
The Walk will take place in person, from 8:30 am to 12pm on Good Friday, April 7th.

Tell Congress: Abolish Nuclear Weapons on H. Res. 77 –
We need your help! Introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 31 by Rep. Jim McGovern (D-MA) and Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), H. Res. 77 calls on the United States to embrace the goals and provisions of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons (TPNW) and to take concrete steps to prevent nuclear war—a threat that is greater today than it’s been since the Cuban Missile Crisis.
With preventnuclearwar.org we support this resolution and the work that preventnuclearwar.org does. You will find resources for this action to support this resolution, nonproliferation and peace.

Not only did 210,000 people die as a result of the bombing, 90% of whom were civilians, but thousands more have continued to suffer for the rest of their lives.
2022 Peace Maker Awards
After more than two challenging years of Covid isolation, office relocation, and administrative changes, the hybrid (live + Zoom) Awards Reception at Xavier High School on June 11 felt like a milestone for Pax Christi Metro New York. Granted, the sound system was initially uncooperative, but eventually Sean Adcroft got the upper hand. It was heartening to actually be with people in the same room, both Pax Christi friends and guests of the honorees. Best of all, our honorees not only told us about themselves and what they have done for peace, they also told us how important Pax Christi is to them. Pierre, Sr. Mary, Brendan, and Caroline are all people who care deeply about doing for others. At the reception they showed us who they are by telling us how much they value what we do. We needed to hear that! We can now feel renewed confidence going forward. Thanks to everyone who helped to make the reception such an affirming experience.
