Fall Assembly Saturday, October 22nd
PCMNY is returning to an in-person Fall Assembly Saturday, October 22nd, at Manhattan College.
The keynote speaker will be renowned Maria Stephan, co-author of Why Civil Resistance Works: The Strategic Logic of Nonviolent Conflict (Columbia Studies in Terrorism and Irregular Warfare).

The 77th Anniversary of the Bombings Of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
On August 7th, we remember in sorrow the 77th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima (August 6th) and Nagasaki (August 9th) and we mourn the loss of life and destruction of these cities. Not only did 210,000 people die as a result of the bombing, 90% of whom were civilians, but thousands more have continued to suffer for the rest of their lives.
Conference on Social Justice, April 2
On April 2, 2022 the Church of St. Francis of Assisi Church and Pax Christi Metro New York, along with SOMOS Community Care and Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York, will be hosting a symposium on Catholic Social Teaching – a fundamental value of the Catholic tradition. The symposium, entitled “Good News in Tough Times: Following Jesus in a Wounded Church and Divided Nation,” will be conducted in English and in Spanish. The morning will feature two keynote speakers: John Carr of Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. and Bishop Octavio Cisneros, emeritus auxiliary bishop of the Diocese of Brooklyn in New York City.

The fast is a response to and a prayerful protest against the culture of violence that plagues our society whether in our media, entertainment, language, or actions against individuals and nations.
